GIORGIA FUMANTI RELEASES INTERNATIONAL DEBUT ALBUM "FROM MY HEART" IN CANADA ON MARCH 13, 2007
Giorgia Fumanti is already winning fans across Europe, South Africa, Asia and North America. This beautiful Italian crossover soprano who calls Montreal home has already toured with the great Jose Carreras, sang the Canadian National Anthem at this year's NHL All-Star Game and is one of three artists featured in the PBS Special Heavenly Voices. All of this has happened even before her International debut album From My Heart comes out in Canada next week on Tuesday, March 13.
Giorgia grew up in Aulla, a city north of Tuscany, but moved to Montreal in 2002, even acquiring Canadian Citizenship. She recorded From My Heart at London's Abbey Road Studios and at Wisseloord Studios in Holland with producer/arranger Craig Leon. She has already been compared to artists such as Enya, Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman, but is quickly making her own musical path. From My Heart features English, French and Italian material from a diverse group of composers, from Sting to Italian film music master Ennio Morricone.
Earlier this month PBS stations across the U.S. began airing Heavenly Voices, a new HD-TV live concert event filmed on November 7, 2006 at the historic Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center in Miami, Florida. Heavenly Voices spotlights the soaring vocal artistry of Giorgia, as well as, Ryland Angel and Sasha & Shawna in a remarkable recital of intimate songs. Canadians can catch the special on one of the several PBS stations that cross into Canada during the months of March and April. A Canadian broadcast for this wonderful special is also in the works.
Next week Giorgia celebrates the launch of her album in Montreal doing promotion. The following week she will be in Toronto also doing promotion, including a special performance broadcast with Classical 96.3 FM on March 19 and a live performance on Canada AM on March 21.
Giorgia has two upcoming Canadian dates, first opening for Patrizio Buanne at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto on April 13. The following day on April 14 she will be at the Capitol Centre in North Bay accompanied by the North Bay Symphony Orchestra for a special concert entitled "La Bella Diva: The Spellbinding GioAria." At the end of her recent tour with the legendary Jose Carreras, he told her "It was a pleasure working with you, with such a voice I am sure you have a great career in front of you."
Giorgia's long-time passions have always been music and helping others. She is thrilled to be the World Ambassador for the Cerebal Palsy Association of Quebec (L'Association de paralysie cerebrale du Quebec) and to do all that she can to inspire, assist and move people through her music and giving of her time.
