KRAFTWERK HOT CHIP REMIXES
12” VINYL, CD & DOWNLOAD FOR RELEASE IN CANADA ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2007
Aerodynamik (Intelligent Design Mix) La Forme (King Of The Mountains Mix)
In honour of this year’s Tour De France commencing in London for the first time in its history, Kraftwerk have just announced details of a very special single release. They have enlisted the skills of the U.K.’s finest electromeisters, Hot Chip, to deliver two remixes of ‘Aerodynamik’ and ‘La Forme’, both tracks having originally appeared on Kraftwerk’s 2003 ‘Tour De France Soundtracks’ album.
Aerodynamik was remixed by Alexis Taylor & Joe Goddard and La Forme was remixed by Al Doyle and Felix Martin.
Doyle and Martin have reworked the elements into a sprawling minimal epic, complete with distant sirens, stomach-turning bass hits and a momentous melodic breakdown. Building on the sonic foundation of the original recordings and very much inspired by the vocals and melodies, additional synthesizer and drum machine patterns emphasize the lengthy transitions from claustrophobic, hypnotic electronic patterns to moments of triumph and great excitement.
Joe Goddard from Hot Chip has added "What makes Kraftwerk brilliant, is the combination of fascinating textures and sounds, simplicity and efficiency in production, and a habit of writing beautiful melodies."
An extremely limited number of imported 12" vinyl will be doing the rounds along with the CD and download of the tracks available in Canada on September 18th.
A new album from Hot Chip is expected to be released in Canada, early in 2008.
