Anne Murray's still got what it takes – as her 35th studio album Duets: Friends & Legends is certified Platinum after only three weeks!
The album debuted at #4 on the Top 200 Sounds can Chart in Canada, her highest debut in over 20 years, and it continues to fly off the shelves as it moves into #3 on the chart this week. The album features Anne singing her classic hits including favourites: “Snowbird,” “You Needed Me” and “Love Song,” as duets with some of the worlds other best female voices, such as: Shania Twain, Nelly Furtado, Martina McBride, Sarah Brightman and k.d. Lang. Two of the album’s highlights are her duets with the late great Dusty Springfield and her daughter Dawn Langstroth. The album will be released internationally in the New Year, including the U.S. on January 15.
Anne remains one of the most consistent and entertaining live performers of our time. Last week her “Coast To Coast – One Last Time” Canadian tour was announced with most dates going on sale this past weekend. The tour which begins in Moncton, New Brunswick in April and ends in Victoria, British Columbia in May, allows fans across the country to share her lifetime of music and memories live in concert. Anne has partnered with the ‘Raise-A-Reader’ campaign which will benefit from every ticket sold. The ‘Raise-A-Reader’ campaign is the brainchild of CanWest and has raised over $10M for literacy beneficiaries across Canada since its inception in 2002.
