FIRST PERFORMERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE JUNOS - FEIST, FINGER ELEVEN AND MICHAEL BUBLÉ TO ROCK THE 2008 JUNO AWARDS, SUNDAY, APRIL 6 ON CTV

“1, 2, 3, 4”…The count is on! CTV and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today that Feist, Finger Eleven and Michael Bublé are the first artists slated to perform on The 2008 JUNO Awards broadcast on Sunday, April 6 from Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome. CARAS also announced today full details surrounding ticket sales for Canada’s Music Awards.

All three Canadian acts have been recognized with previous JUNO Award nominations and wins, and are enjoying huge successes both at home and internationally. More performers will be announced next Monday, February 4 on the eve of the JUNO Awards nominees’ media conference on Tuesday, February 5 at The Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto.

Feist, Finger Eleven and Michael Bublé are about as diverse as you can get when it comes to musical styles, but they do share one thing in common: worldwide success,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “The 2008 JUNO Awards is shaping up to become another great homecoming for Canadian artists who continue to shine on the international stage.”

“The experience of live music performances is what makes The JUNO Awards so exciting from year to year,” said Melanie Berry, President of CARAS and an Executive Producer of the broadcast. “Having artists such as Feist, Finger Eleven and Michael Bublé perform on the same night will be an incredible experience for the fans and audiences watching worldwide – what a great way to show off our homegrown talent!”

JUNO Awards organizers also confirmed today that 500 Early Bird Ticket Packages will be available for purchase beginning Saturday, February 2 at 10 a.m. (MST), providing music fans with a chance to secure prime seating at select Juno Weekend events. For more information on Early Bird Packages, visit www.junoawards.ca. Packages can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.ca, by phone at (403) 777-0000 or in person at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

She was also a member of Broken Social Scene, contributing to four of the group’s albums from 2000-2005.
