"It seems fitting that Stompin' Tom's 50th release takes a look back over his career and offers up a new spin on some old favourites. It is a shame, however, that credit is not given where credit is due with regard to the name of the album. Tom was inspired to write the song "The Ballad of Stompin' Tom" after seeing the hit play by the same name written by David Scott, from London Ontario. The play, chronicling Tom's life, was launched three years ago and enjoyed sold out shows in Blyth, Gananoque, Drayton, Penetanguishene, and most recently, Charlottetown, PEI. Without the success of the stage play, I doubt Tom would have been inspired to pen his latest tune."
